Executive Bio
Gregory W. Hake is the Chief Operating Officer of Six One SOL, a veteran-led innovation and convergence platform focused on accelerating dual-use technologies and helping emerging companies scale. Drawing upon more than two decades of leadership experience spanning military service, executive operations, entrepreneurship, and organizational development, Greg works at the intersection of people, strategy, and execution.
Following 22 years of service in the United States Navy, Greg retired from the SEAL Teams after a career spanning combat operations, leadership development, training, and organizational excellence. During his military career, he served in a variety of leadership positions including Platoon Chief, Lead Sniper, Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC), instructor, and curriculum manager.
Across six overseas deployments, including three combat deployments to Iraq, one to Afghanistan, and two throughout the Pacific theater, Greg served in a variety of operational and leadership roles, including Platoon Chief, Lead Sniper, and Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC). As a JTAC, he was responsible for integrating and controlling air assets in support of combat operations, often coordinating complex missions where decisions carried immediate strategic and tactical consequences. Early in his first combat deployment, Greg was entrusted with managing multiple aircraft and supporting assets during combat operations, providing him firsthand experience leading under pressure and making critical decisions in dynamic environments.
Beyond combat operations, Greg played a key role in developing future leaders within the Naval Special Warfare community. He served as an instructor and curriculum manager and helped establish the Close Quarters Combat Division within SEAL Qualification Training, contributing to the development of the next generation of SEAL operators.
Following military service, Greg founded Fatal Flaw, a leadership and consulting practice focused on helping organizations improve leadership, culture, and operational performance. His work led to an opportunity with Biohaven Pharmaceuticals, where he joined the company full-time and gained valuable experience operating within a rapidly growing public biotechnology organization.
Since then, Greg has worked across multiple startups and growth-stage companies, helping founders and executive teams build operational systems, develop leaders, navigate change, and scale their organizations. Through each role, he has remained committed to a leadership philosophy rooted in service, accountability, and mentorship.
Greg believes that leadership is not about authority, but responsibility. A leader’s role is to remove obstacles, develop people, create clarity, and enable teams to perform at their highest level. Throughout his career, he has built high-performing teams, mentored emerging leaders, and helped organizations navigate growth, change, and uncertainty. This servant leadership philosophy remains the foundation of his work at Six One SOL, where he helps founders, operators, and organizations translate vision into execution while building cultures that allow people and teams to thrive.
